The opportunity

The Technical Advisor - Drainage Investigations is a customer interface position that undertakes drainage investigations to identify wastewater escaping from private and public drainage networks that are entering water ways.

This work looks to improve the quality of our water ways.

Working within our Network Operations and Engineering team, you will undertake inspections and investigations of more complex drainage issues across waste water and stormwater infrastructure to provide fault analysis and reporting.

To see issues through from beginning to end, you will plan work requirements and guide our service teams and subcontractors across any remedial work and act as a key customer contact for updates and resolutions.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • passion and commitment to protecting our environment and waterways
- experience working in a civil construction or similar environment
- excellent customer service skills and ability to build relationships
- experience working across issue resolutions and good verbal communication skills
- experience in using Microsoft suits, such as good report writing and data collection in excel
- traffic management experience and training/tickets is desirable
- previous work experience within underground services or within civil construction
- a clean, full class driver's licence and ability to drive a manual work vehicle is desirable
- a degree of physical fitness to carry out field inspections and enter water/drainage networks is required
- relevant Engineering Diploma or Bachelor qualification, or suitable trade qualification and work experience.


Please note this role works and operates across the Greater Wellington Region, primarily operating from our Porirua depot you will be required to work from other areas in region such as Wellington, South Wairarapa, Porirua, Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt locations from time to time, a company vehicle is supplied for this role.
