**OVERVIEW**:
We are looking for a full time Baristato join our fantastic front of house team. Competitive remuneration, $28.50 per hour. Minimum 30hrs, 5 days a week including weekends on a permanent contract.

Candy Shopis located in Newmarketwithin the historic Kent Flour Mills buildings of Osborne Street. Candy Shop serves coffee roasted by our very own Camper Coffee and an approachable Cafe brunch menu with a Korean twist.

With experience working in high energy environments youll understand the importance of a level-headed, calm and thoughtful approach to your work.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Expertly prepare a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites, and more, adhering to our established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure beverages are presented neatly and in a timely manner, maintaining consistent quality.
- Monitor and maintain espresso machines and equipment to ensure they are clean and properly functioning.
- Provide recommendations to customers based on their preferences and answer any questions about the menu.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Keep the caf workstation, equipment, and service areas clean and organized.
- Adhere to hygiene and food safety regulations to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating with fellow baristas, kitchen staff, and front-of-house personnel to ensure seamless service.
- Assist in serving food and maintaining inventory as needed.
- Accurately process customer payments using the cafs point-of-sale system.
- Handle cash and card transactions responsibly, maintaining accuracy and honesty.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong passion for coffee and a desire to create exceptional coffee experiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail, particularly when preparing beverages and maintaining cleanliness.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity with coffee equipment and espresso machines is a plus.
