New Zealand Eggs Bakehouse Full time

We are searching for a full-time engaging, courteous barista in our busy Ohakune bakehouse who is passionate about beverage preparation and customer service. Our barista will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments, and prepare and serve drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.

**Key Selling Points**:
Full-Time role in established business
Competitive hourly rate of $28-$32/hour based on experience
Early Morning Start, 400am Friday till Tuesday or Wednesday till Sunday rotation.

To succeed as our barista, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, have a pleasant personality, great interpersonal skill, be knowledgeable, and polite. You must be prepared to work both weekend days every week as part of your roster.

**Barista Responsibilities**:
Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments, cash handling.
Preparing equipment, grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
Packaging beverages for sale.
Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods.
Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, and presentation techniques to improve drink quality.
Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, or behind the counter.
Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

**Barista Requirements**:
Some form of formal training and certificate holder in your country of work or prepare to undergo on-the job formal training once you arrive in New Zealand.
Previous demonstrable experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service.
Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
Exceptional listening and communication skills.
Have a strong work ethic, who will take personal accountability for the work they are required to do.
Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
A polite, engaging personality.
Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.

Please note that accommodation options are available. This is a full-time role with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, any hours above this are paid at the standard hourly rate for overtime.
