As an Associate Director of Nursing, you'll support the Director of Nursing lead and support a team of dedicated nursing professionals across the Capital, Coast, Hutt Valley, and Wairarapa Districts. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of mental health care.
- Work closely with fellow Professional Leaders, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Nurse Educators. Your seamless collaboration will drive innovation and elevate the standard of care across MHAIDS
- Collaborate on service delivery strategies and model of care discussions, amplifying the visibility and impact of mental health nursing. Your insights will shape the direction of our profession and influence positive change.
- Take the reins on professional leadership, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to nurses. Your role in registration, supervision, and workforce development will empower our team to thrive.
- Forge partnerships across the wider social sector, driving system-wide transformation. Your collaborative spirit will foster a holistic approach to healthcare, leading the charge towards improved patient outcomes.
- Join us in upholding the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi as you work towards ensuring equitable healthcare for Māori communities. Your contributions will play a vital role in promoting well-being and health equality.

Moū - About you
**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:
- You have held a senior clinical role in nursing in the health sector, within the Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Sector.
- Can demonstrate extensive knowledge and perspective of Mental Health, Addictions &/or Intellectual Disability service delivery.
- Has operated within a complex environment, including meeting the needs of multiple competing demands at the same time.
- Successful experience leading and developing staff
- Successful experience in managing internal and external relationships with an assortment of stakeholders, with demonstrated leadership success in building relationships and gaining the support and participation of key individuals and groups
Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse;
- A current practising certificate and relevant scope of practice;
- Post Graduate certificate in Mental Health nursing or a pre-registration program in mental health nursing.
- Current expert or Senior PDRP (Professional Development & Recognition Programme) portfolio (or obtaining within 6 months of commencing role).
