**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an Associate charge nurse manager for an existing position. Through CCDM we have now have an increase in allocation for an ACNM to be rostered across Ward 4 and 5 Health of the older persons. This increase in allocation will enable us to have an ACNM across the floor providing sound leadership and expertise between Ward 4 and 5 during the Weekday AM and PM shifts and on the Weekends AM and PM shifts.

The ACNM role is a management and leadership role supportive to the Nurse Manager (NM). This alignment with the NM includes shared responsibility for team and professional development ensuring ever higher levels of safe and competent practice - this includes staff rostering, human resource processes, and annual performance reviews (as delegated).

This ACNM role requires an organisational understanding, alongside service and specialty knowledge. Safe quality care is an important priority. The ACNM provides leadership and day-to-day clinical coordination to ensure the provision of high quality health care within the service. This position enables an effective practice environment through providing clinical and professional nursing leadership, coaching and monitoring practice standards. The role provides practice and service knowledge with skill that includes providing direct patient care as required. Practice development and supporting change implementation is an important aspect of this management and leadership role.

The ACNM will support the implementation of organisational initiatives and day-to-day management of all nursing areas (people, process, and physical resources), and to ensure a safe patient journey within the area of responsibility.

The ORA inpatient service is provided on the Kenepuru campus and is currently configured with 48 beds across Ward 4 and 5 - Health of the older person
