**About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga**:
**Full Time Permanent positions**

**Based in Albany and Henderson offices - North & West Auckland**

Key priorities of this role will include:

- Working with individual kura/schools and Communities of Learning | Kāhui Ako to significantly improve student attendance, engagement, and achievement.
- Using detailed analysis of schools/kura performance and student achievement to influence change and maximise education outcomes for students.
- Brokering support for schools/kura where potential is identified - this may include building capability and strengthening governance and management, regulatory compliance, curriculum, monitoring and assessment, student and whānau, family and community engagement.
- Identifying patterns or contributing factors that may be influencing learning, wellbeing and behaviour
- Enhancing inclusive practices in early learning services, schools and other educational settings
- Working collaboratively with a team around the child, including educators, parents, caregivers and whānau, to enhance understanding about the child and their behaviours.
- Providing professional support and guidance to schools, teachers and families and building the capacity of those who are best placed to support the learning of children and young people
- Providing appropriate in-depth specialist assessment and analysis for evidenced informed interventions
- Faciltating access to wider services and support, in response to individual needs.
- Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child’s needs are complex
- Provide objective consultative analysis, advice and information on project requirements

**About you | Mōhou ake**:
If you can evidence your experience across the following areas, we would like to hear from you:

- An ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Some knowledge and understanding of Te Reo Māori ona tikanga.
- Experience working with Māori and Pacific communities and/or services.
- Have experience in assessing information to make objective judgments against criteria and recommend courses of action.
- Can analyse complex issues and provide clear and succinct written and oral reports.
- Have experience in dealing with complex relationships, including influencing and negotiation skills.
- In-depth professional knowledge and recent experience within a school/kura setting.
- A current full driver’s licence is essential.
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

**About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake**:
Te Mahau takiwā collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the education sector. This includes services such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services.

As a frontline group we develop and harness existing relationships with communities at the regional and local level through the Directors of Education, including deep relationships with iwi and hapū.

Our frontline groups are represented at the leadership level of decision making for Te Tāhuhu. The frontline hautū | deputy secretaries hold at least one National Portfolio to complement their frontline role. In Te Tai Raro, our hautū holds the National Portfolio for Pacific Education. This portfolio requires many parts of our organisation to work together to enhance collective impact for Pacific learner success, embedding the shifts in the Action Plan for Pacific Education.
