**Āu Mahi | What You Will Do**

The project delivery includes development of a research methodology, completion of laboratory and field-based analytical water quality assessment (experimental set-up, lab-based water quality analysis, data analysis), model framework development, writing up of research findings into reports and publications, and oral presentation of research findings to stakeholders.

Specific activities include:

- Planning lab-based and field-based tasks for water quality runoff sampling
- Preparation and analysis of samples for a wide variety of water quality parameters, including sediment, heavy metals, emerging contaminants, with specialist technical support and equipment
- Data analysis of water quality results
- Development of a modelling tool framework using Python (prior Python skills would be an advantage but ability to learn Python language needed as a minimum).

**Mōu | Who You Are**

Applicants must have relevant qualifications and demonstrable skills in Environmental Chemistry, Engineering, or another relevant discipline. Applicants will have excellent technical skills in water quality analysis and water quality modelling, excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and effective time management. The appointee must also have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
