**Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)**

This resource pool role requires you to utilise your knowledge and experience in general surgical/medical/acute care nursing to provide quality care and support.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient therapeutic observations and other tasks as directed.

We have two permanent 0.8FTE positions available (each working 64 hours a fortnight).

You will have a mature outlook, the ability to get on with a wide variety of people as well as excellent communication skills. You will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrate honesty and reliability, and use appropriate initiative.

Experience within the health sector is required, and you will ideally hold a NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, or equivalent, or be willing to study toward.
- For the health and safety of both staff and patients, Te Whatu Ora staff are required to have completed their primary course of two NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations._

The full-time equivalent base salary for a Health Care Assistant starts at $51,770 and reaches $61,540 by your 5th year in the role.
