The role

Come and join our tight knit team Due to the ongoing growth within the Manawatu-Whanganui Region, we have an exciting opportunity for a Sprayed Seals Foreman Operator to join our team based in Manawatu to help us deliver the good work Fulton Hogan is known for.

In this role you will undertake sprayed seals and deliver contracts and projects in a profitable and efficient manner whilst complying with all appropriate legislation, company policies and procedures and industry best practice. You will use your good people skills to build genuine and lasting relationships with our customers, and our people (we’re one big whanau). And you’ll have the skills and experience to help us achieve our strategic objectives.

You will need to have a practical and technical minded hands-on approach, coupled with an understanding of asphalt plant manufacturing and its mechanical operation.

We are offering an annual salary up to $85K plus a company vehicle.

Other responsibilities will include;
- Operate small trucks and other equipment to best practice
- Take personal responsibility for the safety of your workmates, the environment, public and yourself
- Follow requirements set out by supervisor or Department Manager
- Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with the relevant job and work instruction
- Plant is ready for daily operation at the designated time
- Meet and exceed customer expectations
- Help your team-mate do their job
- Plant and equipment maintenance and cleaning
- Ensure adequate production to meet customer demands
- Ensure that appropriate inspection, measuring and test equipment is used to demonstrate conformance to requirements

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who ideally has:

- Full Class 2 license
- Grow safe certificate
- Previous experience including the handling of chemicals is desirable
- Good level of physical fitness
- General loader plant operation and basic trouble-shooting
- An unwavering commitment towards living safely with a safety record to match
- Good understanding of mechanics, with a qualification in this area a bonus
- Ability to work effectively in a small team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (customer facing)
- Follow instructions, plans and schedules independently of direct oversight
- Good computer skills
- Be self-motivated & driven to succeed
