He angitūtanga | About the role
As the Supervisor of the Great Barrier/Aotea operations team you will be based on Aotea. A key part of your role is to support and coach our team of Rangers to perform, continuing to build their capability and preserving a great team culture.
Your passion for making a positive impact for conservation will shine through, inspiring your team to continuously strive to deliver bigger and better environmental outcomes for the region.

**The position will be focussed on**:

- Supporting our Operations Manager and enabling your team to function effectively, ensuring staff safety, wellbeing and development is prioritised.
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders about the key work programmes and ensuring priority work is delivered.
- Work collaboratively with whānau, hapū and iwi to understand their aspirations and needs in relation to delivery of work.
- Ensure the delivery of visitor, heritage, treaty, community, biodiversity and infrastructure work across Aotea. This is a uniquely varied role.

- A current full driving licence.

**Before you apply, here are some things you should know**:

- The entire island is powered by solar, and water is not reticulated. This means we are conscientious with our use of electricity and water.
- Connectivity: A phone and laptop are provided. Mobile reception varies across the island. Internet and Wi-Fi are sound at the DOC office.
- There is accommodation available to rent during your tenure.
- The role is the standard 40 hours per week

The salary range for this position is $77,336 - $97,708 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
