Mō te tūnga - About the role
You will be a leader of specialists and a key member of the Information Governance and Sharing leadership teams. You will work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high-quality advice and data, and information and knowledge governance services to meet the needs of our internal customers and external stakeholders. You'll work closely with leaders across IR to support strategic organisational and government priorities, and some travel may be required.

**In this varied role you will**:

- manage the day-to-day operations of IR's national Library facilities, collection maintenance and Library administration
- answer research and document queries from people by interrogating library databases and collections
- propose improvements to the tools and services used by the Library
- promotion of library services across the wider IR network.
- be purchasing and managing procurement of materials for the Library
- lead the Library and Research team and work with the wider Information Governance and Sharing leadership team
- deliver training in library systems and assist in the ongoing design and implementation of business engagement activities on behalf of the Library.

Mōu - About you
To be successful in this position you will possess the following attributes:

- Knowledge of NZ and related jurisdictions' legal systems and legal research tools
- Have an understanding of library policies, procedures and cataloguing, along with experience and/or knowledge of working with and implementing digital library services and materials
- Proficiency in providing advice to people across various levels of the organisation
- Experience with managing information well, analysing and presenting complex information in an easy to understand concise and meaningful way
- Experience with searching strategies and sourcing information on behalf of clients
- Ability to change tack and work with the team to manage the pipeline of customer requests
- Passionate and committed to leading, developing, coaching and supporting your people
- Embrace building your team with a collaborative and inclusive culture, focused on delivering high quality advice and services
- Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills Proficiency in providing advice to people across various levels of the organisation
- Experience in legal research is desirable

Library and Research Services is part of the wider Enterprise Information and Knowledge group ensuring Inland Revenue gets maximum value from its information and knowledge resources.
Within the EIK group, Information Governance and Sharing consists of three teams:

- Information Sharing
- Library and Research Services
- Information Governance

The Technical Lead - Library and Research Services is the technical and people leader of the Library and Research Services team. This is a small team responsible for providing an information research service to all IR staff upon request, and for managing an extensive collection of curated library resources both print and electronic.
