Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Waka Kotahi has an exciting opportunity for a Programme Director to join our Infrastructure Delivery team to lead our Speed and Infrastructure Programme (SIP). This is a critical programme which encompasses a $2 billion investment from Waka Kotahi and road safety partners to provide New Zealanders with a safe and connected transport system. As our Programme Director, you'll work in collaboration with local authority partners and stakeholders from across the sector to deliver the Programme at scale and pace to achieve Road to Zero outcomes and implement road safety improvements across the roading network. As Programme Director you'll play a pivotal role - providing the strategic direction and leadership for Waka Kotahi to drive this delivery. About you | Ko koe tēnei Our Programme Director SIP role is an opportunity for a seasoned executive with extensive experience in delivering strategic programmes at pace. This is a very large programme that requires you to not only drive performance, but also to innovate and lead change across the sector and within your team. You'll be a strategically minded leader, an effective communicator, influencer, collaborator and most importantly able to inspire and motivate people to constantly deliver their best, every day. You'll also bring with you:

- Extensive experience in leading large and complex programmes of work
- Sound leadership capability and experience gained in complex organisations
- Preferably a background in transport infrastructure with a strong and demonstrable business acumen
- In-depth understanding of the governance and regulatory environment
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders and manage different motivations and drivers
- Highly effective planning and organisational skills, including time management and prioritising work in a complex work environment
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of effective programme delivery strategies, practises and principles
- Proven ability in leading high-performing teams
