Flooring Layer

**Flooring Layer Wanted**

We are a well-established flooring company based in Auckland. We are looking for one full-time (guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week, Monday to Saturday) permanent flooring layer to join our team and work in Auckland region.

**Tasks Include**:

- Set up the job site and preparing the surface and layouts
- Load or unload building supplies, materials, and tools. Carry equipment, materials, and goods to & from various locations
- Cut and shape floor covering materials to the specification
- Sweep, scape, sand, or chip dirt & irregularities from substrate surfaces and fill cracks with putty, plaster, or cement grout to form smooth foundation.
- Remove existing floor covering including hard & soft (carpet), assess conditions of the substrate when necessary
- Set up the underlay material
- Manage laying, fitting, installing, and repairing floors using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools
- Use adhesive to glue the planks to the substrate and clean up leftover adhesives
- Identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Ensure a safe working environment for the co-workers
- Follow safety rules and regulations to complete jobs in a safe manner
- Keep all company provided tools in good condition
- Tidy up work areas and vehicles, remove scrapes and dispose of the offcuts at the end of each working day

**To be successful you will need to**:

- Have at least three years solid relevant experience, or
- Have a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification in flooring or equivalent qualifications/certificates
- Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
- Be physically fit and willingness to work hard
- Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively
- have "can-do" attitude

We offer a competitive salary of $29.66/hour and it could be negotiated to $40.00/hour depending on your personal skills and experiences.
