Discover a Leaning and Disability Nursing career in New Zealand:
The Intellectual Disability Forensic Service is based out of Wellington, New Zealand. It has adult, youth and community services and is part of the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS).

Our Model of Care incorporates all the features of current best practices within forensic secure services including Positive Behaviour Support, nuanced risk assessment, and psychological formulation. All staff receive training on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) as this is the basis for our philosophy of care within the service.

Working for the service, you'll receive the standard entitlements given to workers in New Zealand, including 10 days of sick leave per year, and four weeks of annual leave per week.

We're recruiting nurses with training and experience in the specialised field of Learning Disability and/or Mental Health. The purpose of the role is to meet the needs of people and families accessing our services in a manner that is safe, appropriate and effective.

Continual growth and education are encouraged, and assistance is provided to those wishing to take up education opportunities within nursing. This may include paid study days for professional development and there may also be movement as well as progression.
