We're building the world's newest city and are looking for a Transport Network Planner, to join our in-house team of experts to ensure the delivery of a well-planned transport network system.

At the Christchurch City Council, we are proud of our role in driving the development of infrastructure to support Christchurch's changing transport requirements. Our Transport teams work closely with all stakeholders to plan and deliver world class transport projects, and future proofed networks to the people of Christchurch.

**What will you do?**

Your role will implement the Transport Activity Plan within the three guiding pillars of Safety, Access and Environment, and continue to develop responses to meet the Christchurch Transport Plan.. You'll play a pivotal role within the team by providing engineering and technical input for transport planning of both the current and future transport needs with particular emphasis on the following:

- Undertaking transport corridor and area network studies to inform future capital improvement programme schemes and decisions.
- Monitoring and reporting on safety, and access use for all modes, of the transport network.
- Providing Transport Planning advice on legislative and bylaw procedures necessary to support development
- Provide advice on road stopping queries
- Transport Planning Advice to support area masterplans

It's important you can provide sound transport engineering, planning and economic advice so we can base future planning on good information, looking at what's happening on the network and what the costs of intervention will look like. The elected members and our communities want to know, through business cases, that our investments are money well spent.

**Who are you?**
- You are an experienced transport/traffic planner, who enjoys leading from the front.
- You have a Degree or Masters in Transport Planning or Transport Engineering/Civil Engineering
- You are passionate about your work making a real difference.
- You enjoy analysing and investigating to uncover the root cause and have the desire to implement plans to resolve the issues.
- You are passionate about the changing face of transport across all modes, and seek to use this passion to drive the future state of Christchurch's transport network.
