**NZ Rugby and H2R Consulting** are currently working together to find a new payroll star After many years of service someone is moving on, hence we require someone with a strong payroll background, capable of running two monthly (small to medium) pay runs, end-end.
**The Senior Payroll Specialist** is all things payroll for NZ Rugby. Backed up by the HR Team. The role has a primary responsibility to coordinate and manage accurate and timely payroll processing. You will also take responsibility for all HRIS reporting requirements across the business and will be required to proactively address all process and system improvement opportunities.
**Key Tasks**:
**Payroll**
- Coordinate and manage payroll from the entry of data to the completion of final processing and payment ensuring adherence to NZ employment legislation
- Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and to strict deadlines
- Produce Inland Revenue and other payroll related reporting including PAYE reports, earnings returns reconciliations and returns as required
- Prepare and reconcile journals for processing payroll from the HRIS into the general ledger
- Ensure appropriate payroll related records are developed and maintained
- Prepare and submit for review payroll related statistical returns
**HRIS & Reporting**
- Proactively manage all aspects of Human Resources reporting utilising all systems in the HRIS
- Recommend, develop, implement and maintain a regular reporting suite for P&C, Player Services and the business. This includes working with the P&C Manager and Head of People & Development, the Player Relationships Manager, and the business to find out their requirements, carrying out analysis and providing recommendations
- Provide training and support to the rest of the P&C team as well as on HR metrics and analysis so they can support the business
- Manage all payroll reporting - month end, year end, leave, ad hoc, performance/remuneration reporting and work with the rest of the P&C team and Player Services to deliver on time
- Keep staff database, spreadsheets and organisation chart accurate and up to date
**Your background**:
- Broad but deep working knowledge of payroll processes including calculations, reporting, and interrelationships with Finance gathered from previous experience within a similar role.
- Proven analysis skills and ability in creative thinking to come up with solutions and options to problem solve difficult payroll questions.
- Medium to advanced skills in using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and the Microsoft suite of products.
- Up to date knowledge of NZ employment law as it relates to payroll.
- Working knowledge and experience of operational HR practices and processes is required and knowledge of relevant employment legislation is also desirable.
- Financial reconciliation experience desirable.
