**Who we are looking for - Technical Specialist**

We're looking for a qualified and experienced Technical Specialist to join our building consent processing team.

As a valued member of our building team you'll use your knowledge and experience to:

- Provide technical advice related to building processing and inspections both residential and commercial.
- Provide annual competency assessments for the Building Services Team members.
- Have current knowledge of changing technical requirements and how these impact on building and development projects within the District.
**You will have**
- A proven background in Building Control
- A qualification recognised under the Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006
- An established competency assessed under the National Competency Assessment System
- A thorough knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Building Act 2004
- A proven ability to train, mentor and coach building control staff
- A "can do" approach
- Adaptability to a constantly changing work environment
- Sound judgement that demonstrates fair and just outcomes
- Sound computer skills
- A current driver's licence
