The role. What you will do.
- This is a key role in Mott MacDonald’s New Zealand Energy business, growing and leading our Transmission & Distribution team with inputs into our national Energy strategy and delivery. The exciting and dynamic energy environment in New Zealand creates the challenge to deliver current and relevant services to our national and international client base.
- Your knowledge of, and expertise in, the NZ electricity industry will allow you to identify and act on market opportunities, together with your colleagues in the Mott MacDonald Energy team. You will be keen to collaborate openly across sectors and geographies to create value and opportunities in a range of different contexts.
- You will assist in the recruitment of specialist T&D resources to form a complementary team and manage those resources in respect of pipeline of work and day to day resourcing matters, helping to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- From a technical standpoint, among others, you will design and manage electrical grid connections for new and existing renewable and thermal generation, be involved in transmission or substation design and scope, manage and report power systems studies associated initially with new generation connections.
- About you:
- You will be a degree qualified, CPEng eligible (or equivalent) individual with extensive experience in the Energy Sector. You will be a strong communicator with good team and mentoring skills with knowledge and working understanding of industry standard tools such as ETAP, CDEGS, PowerFactory, PSSE and/or PSCAD. You’ll have familiarity and credibility with transmission and distribution clients and knowledge of the specific impacts of introducing renewable generation into the New Zealand networks.
