Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Our Cardiovascular Directorate provides high quality care to patients across New Zealand. The team is made up of clinical experts who are dedicated and focused on providing quality health outcomes for the patients that come into their care. The reputation of the service is based on the excellent care provided by our teams. The Nurse Specialist will work with a patients referred for a TAVI procedure; providing assessment, pre admission and discharge planning, and education.
The Cardiology Department leads New Zealand in providing specialised nursing care based on clinical skill, research, education and innovation. Our commitment is to the highest levels of clinical quality, providing the best standards of personalised care possible to our patients.
The Service is looking for a Nurse with experience in working with large teams in a busy and complex environment. As the Nurse Specialist you will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge, advanced clinical skills, and be an excellent communicator and team member. You will be accountable for care coordination for TAVI patients and will work in collaboration with Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Specialists and other multidisciplinary team members across the continuum of care. Key to your success will be alignment with Te Toka Tumai values and commitment to provide top quality patient care.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
- Have a minimum of 5 years Cardiology nursing experience with proven leadership
- Interact effectively with a multi-disciplinary Team and Service members
- Maintain safe cultural practice and develop your cultural knowledge
- Excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills are essential in order to relate to and work with patients, family members and staff and at all levels
- Have NZ Nursing registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Nurse Prescribing or working towards
- Post graduate qualifications preferable
