At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.
We shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
Do you have a passion for education? Are you interested in better educational outcomes for ākonga/learners? Do you have the change management skills and techniques for understanding the why when it comes to change, and helping others to find and understand their why? Are you a person who enjoys working with others, and is driven to deliver what it takes to achieve the benefits of the change? If so, this might be the perfect match.

**The Lead Adviser**: Change will play a vital role in leading collaborative working relationships within and across the Ministry and with key stakeholders to design and develop change plans, initiatives, products, and services that will ensure quality outcomes for the NZ Curriculum Refresh.
They will have a track record of working on change management programmes with special attention given to the behavioural changes that are needed and taking the initiative to advise and lead on the development of coherent, successful change and implementation design of sector focussed initiatives that takes people along the journey of change and ensures that Ministry staff and the sector are supported with appropriate resources and support.
They work closely with the Change Manager, to ensure successful transformational change across the specific pieces of work within the NZ Curriculum Refresh work programme. They will also have a strong focus on working with the Programme and Project Manager of the refresh of The New Zealand Curriculum.

Mōhou ake | About you
We are looking for an experienced individual with a track record of working with others to help define the why. You will have successfully demonstrated skills in planning for, and delivering change in complex, ambiguous and changing environments, while keeping people at the centre.

**You will also offer**:

- Previous change management experience is essential.
- The ability to take initiative and lead collaborative working relationships is essential.
- High level of competency and knowledge of change including documenting change impacts, current process mapping, completing change management assessments, identifying and managing anticipated resistance, changes to processes and established change management techniques and processes that will support the NZ Curriculum change management strategy and plan.
- The ability to advise internal and external stakeholders within a complex work programme whilst advising and influencing at all levels.
- Strong skills in identifying, mitigating, and managing risk and emerging issues.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- Experience of working in a government agency and a sound understanding of the machinery of government, public sector delivery structures and systems.
- A sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to understanding the Ministry of Education's obligations.
- A good understanding of Pacific peoples and communities and inclusive groups and their communities.
