**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
The** Lead Advisor** represents the council and builds relationships with central government and the private sector to progress infrastructure funding initiatives. As the lead advisor you’ll undertake an analysis of options to fund and finance large-scale infrastructure projects and programmes. This role will take the lead in negotiating with government officials to secure significant funding streams and advise elected members on funding and financial opportunities and challenges. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Strategy, you will be responsible for briefing the mayor and senior councillors on strategic financial issues.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You’re an analytical problem solver that works well in time pressured situations. You can identify and define problems, provide resolutions and make decisions through the use of sound judgement.

With at least 10 years of experience providing strategic financial advice to chief executives, boards of directors and/or ministers, you can tailor your communication to a variety of audiences. Must have a tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance or a related discipline and hold a CA, CPA, CGMA, CFA or similar qualification. You have proven experience in corporate finance leading major projects or infrastructure funding.

We will also be looking for:

- Proven experience with supplier relationship management
- Confidence directing narratives for internal and external stakeholders
