**The Role**

We're looking to grow our Hardware Team. This is an intermediate role and you'll be helping us to extend our capabilities with your excellent hardware skills and guidance. You’ll be working as a member of a small team to deliver an exciting new product to market.

This role will involve creating new electronics designs and modifying existing ones. Our hardware is high reliability and requires a lot of attention to detail. You’ll be working with a range of electronics, from analog and digital electronics, to MCUs and mains voltage rated circuits. The designs you will work on will include a mixture of internal (test jigs) and external (product) electronics hardware.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:

- **Circuit design and simulation**: Design of new circuits, supported by simulation where appropriate; e.g. SPICE
- **Schematic capture**: Creating and updating schematics for new & existing circuit designs
- **PCB layout**: Creating and updating new & existing circuit board layouts in CAD.
- **Systems integration**:work cross-functionally with other engineers to define and integrate electrical, mechanical, thermal, and software interfaces.
- **Design verification**: Constructing test jigs and prototypes. Performing circuit bring-up, debugging and design verification testing in our electronics lab.
- **Technical Review and Advisory **Reporting**:Documentation of designs, test plans, architecture, and analysis.
- **Specification writing**:Producing, maintaining, and reviewing technical specifications, and test plans.
- **Electronic component selection & sourcing**: Analysis & selection of electronic components, including working cross-functionally with supply chain colleagues as well as directly with suppliers when required.

**About You**

We think you’ll be a fit for this role if you possess the following skills or experience:

- A B.E. (hons) in Electrical & Electronic engineering or similar
- 3+ year commercial experience - ideally in designing electronic products
- Experience designing or testing electronic products through the product lifecycle from concept through to market in a commercial environment
- Hands-on experience testing & debugging PCBAs with common test equipment like oscilloscopes.
- Experience using electronics CAD software for schematic capture & PCB design e.g. Altium.
- Agility and adaptability, able to rapidly respond to changing business needs
- Experience or passion for working in a start-up environment

Some nice to haves include:

- Some familiarity with programming or scripting (ideally C++ or Python) would be a major advantage but not a requirement
