**About us**
Te Rnanga o Kirikiriroa is a kaupapa Mori organisation based on a whnau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach. Our organisation works to a model of care centered around our pou (guiding principles) of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, arohatanga and rangatiratanga, tika and pono.
We deliver 30+ health and social services across the life span (i.e., from infants to the elderly) and have a team of over 100 people working across Hamilton city and beyond.
**About the role**
We have Kaiawhina Youth Mentor - Residential Service positions available within our Iti Mapihi Pounamu Team. Iti Mapihi Pounamu is a 3-bed youth wellbeing home situated on a 10-acre farm on the outskirts of Hamilton. We support every taiohi we work with to complete goals that they set for themselves while also providing an encouraging, active, learning and safe environment.
**Positions available**
- 2 x full time, 12 hour shift, rostered 4 days on, 4 days off shift rotation, Monday-Sunday
- From $25.50 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience, aligning with pay equity
**We are seeking Kaiawhina Youth Mentor - Residentials who**
- Prides themself on their ability to work to a whnau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach
- Is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our taiohi
- Has a positive and supportive mindset in supporting our taiohi to achieve their goals and aspirations
- Demonstrates patience and calm by working alongside and at the pace of our taiohi
- Works to a holistic approach to wellbeing
- Understands and actively demonstrates our pou
- Uses appropriate language and communication skills (e.g., tone, active listening) to fully understand the needs of the taiohi
**You will have**
- 1-3 years working in a kaupapa Mori environment
- 1-3 years experience in the youth sector, preferably in residential settings
- A basic understanding of te ao Mori principles e.g., te reo and tikanga, and a willingness to learn more in this area
- A level 4 qualification in youth work, level 5 qualification in social services, te reo Mori, tikanga Mori or be prepared to study towards one or more of these qualifications
- Evidence of being fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19
- Full driver licence
- Proof of your right to work in New Zealand
