Join our
dedicated Security Team as a Safety Intervention Trainer and contribute to our
mission of fostering a culture of security, safety, and wellbeing.
As a member
of our team, you will play a pivotal role in equipping our staff with the
knowledge and skills to effectively manage workplace violence and aggression,
ensuring the protection of our people, assets, and information.
Key
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and deliver the
Workplace Violence and Aggression Prevention Training Programme, focusing
on Safety Intervention Training.
- Develop and deliver an
industry-best practice training program for new Security Officers,
imparting the skills and techniques essential for healthcare security.
- Provide guidance and
support to managers and staff on security training matters, including
interpretation of standards, policies, and procedures.
- Lead or participate in
security training projects, evaluating the impact of training and
enhancing quality assurance processes.
- Stay updated with
advancements in security training and learning methodologies.
- Support frontline
security teams through hands-on field training and development
initiatives.
- Maintain high standards
and quality of Safety Intervention First training delivery to all staff,
including clinicians.
- Mentor security staff
techniques.
- Collaborate with other
Workplace Violence Prevention and Safety Intervention Trainers.
- Design and deliver a
tailored healthcare security officer induction training program aligned
with organizational values and policies.
- Develop, deliver, and
monitor induction, core, and specialist learning programs for security personnel.
- Establish a
professional development program for Security Officers, guiding their
career pathway through mentoring and structured development.
- Provide leadership and
mentorship to facilitate the growth of other staff in security practices.
- Monitor training
processes, attendance, performance measures, and KPIs.
- Ensure all training
sessions comply with Health and Safety requirements.Ngā pūkenga me

- Experience in adult
education and delivering training to diverse groups.
- Ability to engage
learners effectively and facilitate learning transfer into practical
action.
- Strong communication
skills for both theoretical and physical learning approaches.
- Operational experience
in Police, Military, Government, or Healthcare security.
- Physical fitness for
delivering training sessions.
- High levels of
professionalism and personal accountability.
- Experience in Te Ao
Māori environment, understanding of Tikanga Māori, and/or bicultural work
**context.Desired**:
- CPI Foundation
Instructor qualification.
- Recognized
qualification in adult learning, training, or coaching.
- Proficiency in
