**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We are looking for a Medical laboratory Scientist to join our Non-Gynae Cytology team/Electron Microscopy team within Anatomical Pathology at LabPLUS. This is an excellent opportunity to work with NZ’s largest and highly specialised hospital based laboratory service.

This role includes specimen processing and the microscopic diagnostic work of all Non-Gynae Cytology/Electron Microscopy specimens. You will work closely with the Technical and Clinical team.

**This position is full time working rostered shifts from Monday-Sunday.**

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

- Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ with current APC as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Recent practical, in-depth experience and a good working knowledge in Non-Gynae Cytology. Experience in using the Electron microscope is desirable
- A detailed knowledge of the ISO15189 standards
- Attention to detail, accuracy, computer skills and excellent time management skills
- Understanding of process improvement with experience of quality improvement initiatives
- Previous experience in staff training
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to build and foster productive relationships.
- Flexibility to suit the service demands with the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines.
- Evidential people skills experience is essential
