**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Molecular Immunology section of the Immunology Laboratory at LabPLUS is involved in diagnosis and research of immunological related diseases.

Our aim is to provide a total lab service of excellence and innovation.

The Molecular Immunology section of LabPLUS has a vacancy for a permanent Biomedical Scientist/ Medical Laboratory Scientist.

Duties of the scientist:

- Diagnostic work involves genetic testing for immunological related disorders
- analyse data and report results
- perform non-molecular assays and report results in other immunology sections under supervision
- Quality assurance duties backing up the Quality Officer within the Immunology and Virology departments
- Participate in research projects and carry out assays and manage paperwork

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- A Master’s degree in Biomedical or Medical Laboratory Science degree plus 2 years of experience in relevant field
- Working knowledge of molecular biology protocols and practices
- Experience with molecular diagnostics
- Ability to work within a team, attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
