**About the opportunity**

This is a long-standing processor of primary products supplied to the local retail sector. It operates a modern production facility which typically runs Monday - Friday from 5am to 2pm to meet daily customer requirements.

If you are a practical, hands-on Engineer with a breadth of experience, coupled with initiative and drive, I’d love to hear from you.

**What will you be doing?**

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this is a sole-charge role responsible for hands-on maintenance at this modern food processing plant, plus management of external contractors brought in to undertake specialist maintenance tasks.

Your day will consist of both planned and breakdown maintenance to ensure optimal production uptime, budget management, purchasing and inventory control of engineering spares, maintaining building WoF, and ensuring all work done meets compliance requirements.

**What are we looking for?**
- Ideally you will be a dual-trades Engineer, or are a Mechanical Engineer with EST registration (although this is not essential).
- Experience working in the food (meat or related) sector, and an understanding of Food Safety and H&S requirements.
- Contractor management experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple or conflicting priorities in a deadline driven environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A common sense, practical approach to problem solving, in addition to a proactive can-do attitude.
