Helios Power solutions is a leading provider of AC & DC power solutions that are sustainably designed, built and installed for a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects across New Zealand. Due to year on year growth and an increased demand for our products and services, a newly created opportunity has become available for a driven Head of Operations to join this dedicated team.

**A little bit about the Opportunity**:
Our client is looking for a high performing Head of Operations to join the Senior Leadership team. Reporting to the General Manager this role will lead the operations of the business and be an integral part of executing the strategic plan. As a leader in the business, you will oversee 5 divisional managers across the business, consistently improving our performance across all aspects of the business with a constant focus on operational excellence.

**Key duties**:
Planning
- Provide cost up forecasting and budgeting advice to Group CEO
- Oversee the smooth management of the production planning process with a mindful cost emphasis
- Manage supplier transitions and transactions

Supply Chain - Purchasing and Warehousing
- Work with purchasing to ensure the timely and cost effective purchasing and arrival of raw materials and finished goods
- Review and develop supplier capabilities to ensure continued improvement of production delivery and development
- Work with warehousing to ensure inventory control
- Communicate with suppliers and provide frequent updates on pertinent information regarding delays

Production, Quality Control and Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate product delivery to customers
- Review standards and building systems to ensure production continually meets set specifications and quality standards
- Review, recommend and source appropriate suppliers, and negotiate and manage supplier prices to achieve budget requirements
- Set up and manage SLAs and QC issues with suppliers
- Contribute to the design process around production capabilities
- Oversee and manage continuous improvement plan

Service
- Managing technical service teams, including assisting team leaders in reporting and documentation, and managing customer relationships for enterprise accounts.

People
- Day to day people management and team leadership, ensuring our people are supported, coached and mentored
- Support and continue to develop a positive workplace culture
- Carry out staff performance reviews, recruitment, and performance management

Health & Safety
- Ensure your teams meet all Health & Safety standards and processes as per OHS requirements

- Attitude is everything, we are looking for someone who is confident, positive, passionate and energetic wanting to really dig in and drive results
- Experience leading/managing senior employees
- Leadership style that drives a high performance team culture
- Minimum 5 years working in management/operations role
- Strong commercial acumen
- Desire to create operational excellence throughout the business
- The ability to have tough conversations in a respectful and productive way
- Technical expertise in manufacturing (Electronics manufacturing a bonus)
