**Te āheinga: The opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for an Academic Advisor to join our Te Puna Ako (Learning & Teaching Support) team. This role works across all Unitec Schools and their teaching teams to continuously enhance the quality of learning and teaching.

As an Academic Advisor, you will provide academic advice and support, develop and deliver structured professional development, support course development or improvement, and quality assurance processes. You will build strong working relationships with staff (teaching teams and various learner support teams) and academic programme leaders to enable innovative approaches to curriculum design, assessment, learning and teaching, including digital learning. Increasingly, Te Puna Ako advisers must be across the accelerating role played by Generative Artificial Intelligence - its impact, its risks and opportunities for innovation in learning and teaching, its implications for academic integrity, and the necessity to re-think assessment.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

You will be a passionate educator with a proven track record in high-quality teaching, staff development, and course development. You will have the ability to coach adults, be fully engaged with continuous professional development, and have a passion for supporting peers to develop teaching capability.

Substantial knowledge and experience in providing academic advice that leads to improvement in learner success, in the context of the shift to flexible modes of learning is required. Strong proficiency in the use of digital learning tools with a track record of modelling and championing their adoption is expected. You will be keenly aware of the need for learning and assessment design that takes account of Generative AI risks as well as opportunities to prepare learners authentically for their future workplaces.
