Our busy Ophthalmology department provides high quality care to patients in the Auckland Region and offers a range of secondary and tertiary services primarily based at Greenlane Clinical Centre. We also provide services at various sites across the Auckland Region. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our experienced team. This role will be challenging and rewarding as we develop the service regionally and explore models of care to sustainably meet the needs of our patients and their whanau.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior registered nurse with a strong focus in ophthalmology, excellent assessment and communication skills to be integral in providing comprehensive healthcare to our ophthalmic patients and whānau by ensuring a high standard of health care and promoting best practice. This senior nursing position will enable you to work at the top of your scope of practice supporting the ongoing development of the Ophthalmology model of care, while making a difference in the way we approach our mahi to better meet patients, whānau and stakeholder needs.
You will thrive in an environment where collaboration and teamwork are highly valued. You will provide clinical leadership in the provision of the intravitreal service within the ophthalmology department.
We are keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
- Registered as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
- Initiative and solution focused with excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to engage people at all levels
- Ability to share and demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills
- At least five years’ experience in Ophthalmic Nursing
- Excellent relationship building, and liaising with a multi-disciplinary groups
