**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The key purpose of this role is to:

- provide IR advice
- contribute to the employment relations policy work, helping to ensure development of innovative policy and consultation is undertaken with all relevant stakeholders to enable implementation; and
- supports effective resolution of industrial related conflicts through effective problem-solving approaches, fostering positive working relationships and minimising disruptions.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Relevant experience in the Employee Relations area (in the range of 2+ years depending on type of experience).
- Developing experience in the advocacy and negotiation of matters and working with Unions and advocating in a contemporary way, and employment relations at some levels in an organisation.
- Developing Industrial Relations expertise with a growing ability to assess IR/ER issues and consider options, risks, benefits, mitigation strategies and make informed recommendations.
- Learning the ability to model the concept of “good faith” in employment relationships in the organisation.
