At Nelmac we’re proud to work with our communities to protect, renew and enhance our environment to ensure our legacy for future generations.
Whilst some practical experience in the conservation/outdoor environment would be beneficial, these are entry level roles, where full training will be provided. If you have a genuine passion for the environment in which we live, this is a great chance to gain experience and learn new skills in a fun, supportive team.
Conservation tasks may include:
- Pest animal, weed control, planting, re-vegetation and vegetation clearance
- Maintenance of the local region’s recreational track network
- Using chainsaws, scrub cutters and light machinery
Suitable applicants will have:
- Some knowledge / interest in the identification of native plants and the control of pest plants
- A current driver’s licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles
- High awareness and strong commitment to health and safety
- A good level of physical fitness and perseverance
- A high degree of motivation with a positive attitude
- Ability to carry out physical work in all weather conditions
