Come be part of the City Rail Link (CRL) project that is delivering major transformation to Auckland's public transport infrastructure. Auckland One Rail is seeking an experienced Systems Assurance Engineer on a fixed term contract through to May 2026. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the CRL systems meet the required safety and performance standards. This position will facilitate the integration and assurance of complex rail systems, ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and best practices.

As the CRL Systems Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining system assurance documentation, conducting risk assessments, and performing validation and verification of systems throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and external authorities to ensure that safety and quality principles are embedded into all aspects of the project.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Advise & Support: Assist the CRL Delivery Team in demonstrating compliance with relevant systems assurance processes, engineering standards, operational standards, and technical/user requirements.
- Safety Assurance Documentation: Develop, document, and provide evidence for Safety Assurance arguments during all phases of projects.
- Compliance Reviews: Conduct Systems Assurance reviews to ensure compliance with Safety Assurance arguments and Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) implementation.
- Coordination: Work with GM HsQE to create a Day One SCV, ensuring coordination between CRL and wider network changes to AOR operations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Create CRL safety assurance reports, statements, and other related documentation. Review and provide feedback on technical and safety assurance reports, risk assessments, and safety-related analyses.
- Safety Case & Accreditation: Revise the AOR safety case to reflect scope changes and work closely with rail regulators to facilitate a smooth accreditation variation process.
- Risk Management: Prepare and develop safety assurance reports, statements, and project risk registers. Ensure the documentation of risk assessments, risk controls, and their implementation across the project lifecycle.
- Regulatory Variation & Risk Transfer: Develop regulatory variation documents and ensure the traceable transfer of risks from CRL projects to AOR operations.
- Assurance Tracking Tools: Develop and maintain tools to validate safety arguments and manage risk throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Workshops & Reports: Facilitate Risk Workshops, develop SFIARP Statements, and perform Human Factors Assessments and Reports

**Requirements**:

- Relevant qualification in systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in systems assurance and safety management in a similar role, preferably within the rail or transportation sector.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and safety compliance processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experienced in risk assessment, conducting safety audits, and familiarity with safety case development.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
