**Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are looking for someone with strong skills in mould making, casting and ceramics, to join the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries in the role of Technician.

This role will provide technical guidance, demonstration and support to staff and students across a range of technical operations essential to research and teaching, using a range of techniques, equipment, and materials.

Please note this is a **Full-time **(37.5 hours per week), **permanent** role with a salary range of $62,401 - $72,700 per annum depending on skills and experience.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Have strong mould making and ceramics skills, and practical knowledge of a workshop environment.
- The ability and experience to take sole-charge of a workshop, and oversee students either working independently, in groups or whilst delivering a class.
- Strong commitment to, and can demonstrate experience with, Health and Safety best practices.
- Be committed to excellent quality and have a sharp eye for detail.
- Have excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage positively and proactively with a variety of stakeholders across a range of experience levels.
- Ability to prepare, engage and instruct classes on various technical aspects of ceramics, mould making, materials, and techniques.
- Be a team player with strong relationship skills who enjoys working with others in a collaborative environment.
- Trade or tertiary qualification(s) in the relevant area(s)
- Demonstrate a working relationship to art, design and creative practice.
- Ability to work flexibly with creative projects across a range of processes and techniques. The ability to adapt, think differently and work with the ideas of our students and researchers to achieve their goals.
