Emerge Aotearoa is a social services organisation providing a range of services to whānau, including health and disability, youth and transitional housing. Our kaimahi all have a common goal - helping people realise their potential with the aim of supporting whānau to live their best life as independently as possible.
**About the opportunity**
Working as a Registered Health Professional in a prison setting, your role will focus on supporting people in the prison by providing mental health assessment, brief intervention and assistance/advice with referrals to other agencies.
You will work closely with the corrections staff providing expertise and knowledge to them in the workplace.

**In order to be considered for this role, it is essential that you meet the following requirements**:
- Registered with a Professional Body covered by HPCA 2003 Act - RN, OT, Clinical Psychologist/Psychologist or Registered Social Worker
- Hold a current APC
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to undertake a comprehensive mental health assessment and provide appropriate brief interventions i.e. talking therapies
- Mental Health experience working with individuals presenting with a variety of mental health needs
- Have a 'can do' attitude and a personality to match
- Resilience, flexibility and a sense of humour
