**About us**:
We are working with a public sector organisation which is searching for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join the National Office in Wellington. The role is offered on a two year fixed term basis since it is focussed on delivering a best practice strategy and action plan.

**About the role**:
Working within a small team of highly committed people you will:

- Take responsibility for the current health & safety programme and the task of developing it into a robust and comprehensive programme that is fully compliant with current legislation;
- Possess demonstrable experience in the discipline, ideally in the public sector, along with a self-starting, problem solving approach;
- Have systems awareness along with experience building process frameworks;
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, influencing and interpersonal communication skills and a keen desire to work collegially in the team.

**About you**:
You are an experienced, hands-on specialist with broad experience and have the ability to work across the organisation at various levels. Your coaching and mentoring approach will be valued along with your flexibility to work as required. The role could be offered on a flexible hours basis which might include working from home options. As such it represents a great opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative team-based environment.
