**About the Sustainable Buildings team**

The Beca Sustainable Buildings team are widely regarded as leaders in sustainability courtesy of their experience across an extensive range of building projects and third-party project accreditations. We have been a key team member for many certification tool firsts and actively promote a collaborative and value based approach to sustainability and innovation on our projects. We thrive on challenges and enjoy making the complex simple - helping our clients navigate towards their sustainability aspirations, providing the confidence they need to invest in a sustainable future.

Our approach to sustainability is a careful balance and integration of social, cultural, and environmental opportunities while acknowledging the value these initiatives bring to a project.

We are a well-established and experienced sustainability team with a focus on pushing the boundaries of design. We are currently working on a number of net-zero carbon projects, projects targeting world-leading sustainability certification, providing decarbonisation advice for existing assets, advising development agencies on how to integrate sustainability into their designs, and undertaking research to help drive appropriate climate change responses. We are experiencing significant growth in our services, driven by the climate emergency, and are targeting engagements that best support our low carbon future. As a virtual team across multiple locations, we can expose our people to a variety of work and building typologies, with a focus on growing their capability and enhancing the impact they can have on the world.

**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a Graduate Sustainable Buildings Engineer to continue to grow and shape the success of our Buildings Sustainability Team in Auckland. Beca Sustainable Buildings team are widely regarded as leaders in sustainability courtesy of their experience across an extensive range of building projects and third-party project accreditations. **About you**

To be successful in the role, ideally, you will have:

- Tertiary qualified in a related field - Building science, building physics, mechanical services engineering, or other
- Graduate up to 3 year experience delivering ESD projects including: Developing bespoke sustainability strategies, building physics analysis (skills in IES or parametric modelling and similar are an advantage), development of passive design solutions, building life cycle assessments, decarbonisation roadmaps, and green building certification (Green Star/NABERS/LEED/Living Building Challenge/WELL etc.)
- Strong client engagement skills - have a passion for collaborating directly with clients and architects offering clear and valued advice which resonates.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and lead others to achieve sustainable outcomes
- Excellent communications skills and someone who thrives working in a team environment
- A passion for sustainability and a motivation to learn better practice in our industry
- Creativity, resourcefulness, intuition, and passion for bringing fresh ideas and new solutions to our clients and communities
