About the role He Aha Te Tūranga

Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager in Australia, this role will be an integral part of the health, safety & wellbeing (HSW) team, and wider People & Culture team both in New Zealand and Australia. You will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the nib HSW management system, strategy, training, incident management and wellbeing program. Key responsibilities include:
- Review and update HSW policies and procedures- Support management of the ergonomic program to reduce ergonomic incidents and injuries- Assist with workers compensation claims and return to work plans- Coordinate nibWell activities across the nib Group and support the wellbeing champion network- Coordinate and complete compliance actions- Support the HSW internal review process- Regular communication and relationship building with managers and employees- Support completion of event risk assessments and site hazard inspection checklists- Like any people related role, there will be an administration component which includes things like taking minutes for the HSW committee meetings, and other adhoc administration tasks- As this role is part of a wider nib Group team, there could be occasional travel within New Zealand and to Australia.

About you Ko Wai Koe

You will have had exposure to health, safety and wellbeing practices and are looking to progress your career in the sector. You will be someone who isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up to get the job done. Other qualities we are seeking are:
- 1 - 2 years health & safety related experience and it would be advantageous if this experience was in a corporate environment- Strong organisation skills- Ability to multi-task and pivot as priorities shift- Relevant tertiary qualification- Proactivity and being comfortable working autonomously- Excellent communication skills- Technologically savvy and innovative.
