**Who we are**

Kāwai ki te Iwi, Service Delivery and Operations (SDO) is one of DIA's most public facing branches, providing customers with a wide variety of services, products and advice with a genuine commitment to the Māori Crown partnership. The branch also includes a large programme that aims to make it easier for customers to use identity and life event services like passports, citizenship, births, deaths and marriages online, connect with government and have more control over their information.

The Te Waka Aukaha, Planning Design and Assurance business group delivers high quality specialist support on behalf of the Deputy Chief Executive and provides a range of integrated services to senior leaders across the Service Delivery and Operations branch, in the areas of investment and business planning, governance, design, business intelligence and insights, organisational development, change management, risk and assurance and our Pasifika strategy.

**About the role**

As a member of the Te Waka Aukaha Leadership Team the Manager Business Intelligence and Insights works collaboratively with colleagues to provide strategic, integrated advice and support to the Service Delivery and Operations Leadership Team, with direct accountability for delivering high quality insights drawn from data analysis to inform, strengthen and drive effective decision-making across the branch.

Leading a team of dedicated specialists, you will champion the value of data-informed decision making, establish the team as the trusted single front door for all requests from across the branch and provide leadership and coaching to support a continuous learning environment, culture and practice, aligned with emerging trends, opportunities and business needs.

Along with significant leadership experience, the successful applicant will have:

- Several years' experience in operational leadership of a business intelligence/insights/data and analytics function
- Experience leading a high performing team and gaining commitment to continuous improvement and change in a large and complex organisation
- Strategic capability - the ability to think beyond immediate issues and consider long term and broader implications
- Experience in identifying emergent opportunities and challenges and providing strategic leadership and trusted advice to senior leaders
- Understanding of public sector management frameworks, relevant legislation and reporting requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate credibly verbally and in writing and influence and engage senior stakeholders to achieve outcomes
