**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

The Tūpuna Maunga o Tāmaki Makaurau Authority (Maunga Authority) is the statutory authority established under the Ngā Mana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau Collective Redress Act to co-govern the Tūpuna Maunga.

The Maunga Authority is comprised of equal representatives from Ngā Mana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau and Auckland Council, together with Crown (non-voting) representation.
The Kaihautu Hōtaka Tūpuna Maunga, supports the Tūpuna Maunga Manager to deliver the operational programme across the Tūpuna Maunga Network.

This is an opportunity to be involved in an exciting work programme in a co-governance environment in preparation for a world heritage bid. You will work on strategic operational projects, the development of operational policy and organising operational financial plans.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

You will have a passion for kaupapa Māori, and confidence working in a Te Ao Māori setting. You will have the ability to build collaborative relationships with a broad range of people and have experience with relationship management. You will be able to have tough conversations that improve the performance or outcomes for the Maunga and your contracts. You will be results orientated, organised and well planned. Ideally, you will have an understanding of local or central government.

You are a strategic thinker who can focus on getting complex jobs complete on time. You will be systems orientated with a passion for getting to the heart of problems and finding practical and efficient ways to resolve them. You will be able to be flexible and adaptive to issues the team or your program is faced withExperience in promoting learning of Te Reo, Tikanga and Mātauranga Māori and strong communication in Māori speaking mediums would be seen as highly desirable. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable, but not a prerequisite. This could include planning, environmental or parks management, or even accounting.
