**Pūtahi Manawa | Healthy Hearts for Aotearoa New Zealand CoRE**

Pūtahi Manawa | Healthy Hearts for Aotearoa New Zealand is a Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) hosted at Waipapa Taumata Rau | The University of Auckland. It brings communities together with research scientists, clinicians, and educationalists to disrupt the status quo and take action against heart health inequities.

**Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We are looking for someone who is passionate about sharing stories and bringing our research to life. “Business **_not _**as usual” is our ethos, so you’ll be a mover and shaker, ready to weave together the work of our communities of researchers, patients and young people together in new and different ways to galvanise our efforts to bring equity to heart health in Aotearoa

Ideally, you will bring with you an understanding of, or prior experience working with tangata whenua and/or Pacific Peoples and will be able to bring your own experiences to help to fine tune what and how we communicate and market our work. Our team’s strengths are in its diversity, interdisciplinary /inter-institutional collaborations, and the culturally safe space we have created.

This is a great opportunity to innovate how we talk about and participate with research and intersect it with real human stories and experiences.

You will have the support of the wider team across the CoRE and the University Marketing and Communications team to gain experience and develop your career in Communications and Marketing.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Ensure equity, with focus on Māori and Pacific Peoples is embedded at all levels is part of the communication management (ie the target audiences, language, form of communication).
- Effectively use and innovate the use of social and traditional media that amplifies the awareness, profile and recognition of the CoRE’s work and that of its contributors
- Plan, develop and manage digital and print-based marketing strategies and projects to support stakeholder engagement, eg, to broaden profile and reach of the Centre. This includes planning content calendars, writing briefs, support with writing communications, copywriting and developing content and collateral for any marketing campaigns for the Centre.
- Identify and propose opportunities/needs to raise the profile, prominence, and impact of Pūtahi Manawa as a Centre of Research Excellence both nationally and internationally.
- Identify and represent the Centre at appropriate events, providing feedback and debriefing reports to management team.
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and cultural safety through relationship management, advocacy and negotiation within the University, with outside organisations and key stakeholders and importantly our Māori and Pacific communities and media outlets.

This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), fixed term role until 31 December 2024 in the first instance. Subject to confirmation of ongoing funding, the fixed term period may be extended.

The remuneration is Salary Band F; $73,401 - $84,700 per annum dependent on skills and experience.
