**Job Title**: Pastrycooks Assistant

**Location**: Lower Hutt Central

**Employment Type**: Full-time

**Days required**: Monday to Sunday on shift

**Payment**:$25 to $28 per hour

**Hours per week**: 35 to 50 hours per week

**Number of Vacancies**: 3 positions

**Key tasks & responsibilities**:

- Assisting all day-to-day operations of the pastry.
- Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.
- Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing, and shaping dough and pastry goods
- Preparing pastry fillings.
- Assisting in monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.
- Help bakers and pastrycooks to prepare and bake buns, cakes, biscuits, and pastry goods.
- Help decorate pastries using different icings and toppings to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
- Assisting in food costing and portion control if required.
- Assisting monitoring stocks for baking ingredients such as flour and sugar and making appropriate orders within budget.
- Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
- General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties.

**Toberightforthisroleandourorganization,youneed**:

- No prior experience nor qualifications required but would be an advantage if you have experience in this industry.
- On-the-job training will be provided if you are the right one.
- Adaptable to change and able to multitask.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Be reliable and responsible.
