Tiler’s Apprentice

We are a small, growing company looking for a committed Tiler’s Apprentice who wants to build a career in the civil construction industry.

Job location/region: Greater Auckland
Number of positions for this job: 1
Employment type: Permanent / Full-time
Days required: Monday to Friday. May occasionally be required to work on weekends.
Hours per week: minimum 30 hours per week
Hourly rate range: from $26.69 to $29.66 (based on skills and experience)

Job description:

- Assisting qualified Tilers
- Carrying out tasks such as preparing the job site and preparing the surface under the supervision of a qualified tiler
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Managing on-site materials
- Assisting with mixing, pouring, and spreading of self-levelling screed, grout, sealant, and inserting spaces
- Assisting with spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles into position under the supervision of a qualified tiler
- Assisting with laying wall and floor tiles, cutting, and shaping tiles to the specifications under the supervision of a qualified tiler
- Cleaning job site once the work is done and cleaning tools.
- May be required to travel to other locations in the North Island occasionally.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in construction, including general labouring, would be an advantage.
- Willingness to learn
- Flexibility and ability to work extra hours when required.
- Clean police records and ability to pass the drug test.
- Full and clean Driver’s License
- Be Health and Safety conscious.
- Good communication skills and presentable appearance
- Strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude
- Be able to provide 2 references.
- Open work permit in New Zealand, with no restrictions

**Salary**: $26.69 - $29.66 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
