**Salary details**:non-designated pharmacist scale dependent on skills, qualifications and experience.**An exciting new position has become available with dedicated time for infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship.**
**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
- This an opportunity to further develop your knowledge and expertise in the pharmacological management of infections, spending approximately half of your time on this area of work. Spend the other half of your time doing a variety of work undertaken by the Quality and Safe Use of Medicines team. This may include medicine information, guidelines or prescriber orientation. Learn about or further develop your skills in these areas and contribute to both individual patient care and district-wide medicine management support.
- You will have the opportunity to work alongside the infectious diseases/AMS pharmacist, the multi-disciplinary infectious diseases team and experienced pharmacy staff across the pharmacy service. Grow your skills and knowledge while having support.- Be involved in the management of patients with infectious diseases.-
- Contribute to the development and implementation of antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, ensuring the judicious use of these life-saving medications.-
- Use or develop your medicine information and guideline writing skills.-
- Build your experience through exposure to different services and tasks in a busy tertiary hospital.-

- Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- A NZ registered pharmacist, preferably with 2 to 5 years' hospital pharmacy experience:- Strong clinical skills and a passion to learn-
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-
- Good organisational skills-
- Flexible approach to work**Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service**- Pharmacy Services at Waikato Hospital provides services to the hospital and to six smaller rural hospitals and care units across the Waikato region.-
- The pharmacy service is divided into five services: Clinical Services, Dispensary and Supply, Oncology, Haematology and Compounding Service, Quality and Safe Use of Medicines and our onsite community pharmacy service (Pharmacy on Meade).-
