Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi is a vibrant and exciting tertiary education institution which offers a range of programmes from certificates to doctorates across a range of disciplines.

We are seeking two full-time fixed term Regional Co-ordinators to establish and maintain relationships with marae, hapū, iwi, and Māori organisations in a specific region, to promote Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi programmes including Adult Community Education and Te Pouhono programmes, and providing training and support to Marae Coordinators, delivering those programmes.

One Regional Coordinator role will be located and work with iwi in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty region, the other will be located and work with iwi in the Whanganui/Manawatu region.

If you have experience supporting whānau, hapū and iwi to build and strengthen cultural capability in one of the two regions and you have the relevant iwi networks to work in that region, you may be the person we are searching for.

In this role you will be part of a wider team of staff who support Marae and Māori entities delivering our Adult Community Education and Te Pouhono programmes across the country. You will guide and support volunteer Marae Coordinators and Mahi Aroha Kaiako to recruit and deliver tailored programmes on marae, coordinate the collection of student records, and complete close off procedures for each class with Marae Coordinators. You will also assist the wider team with quality assurance and monitoring processes across both Te Waharoa and Te Pouhono programmes.

Our successful applicant will ideally have:

- A management qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- A diploma level qualification in the field of Mātauranga Māori/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience working with iwi and able to provide evidence of iwi networks in a specific region.
- Administration/coordination experience.
- Data entry and report writing experience.
- Intermediate to advanced skills and experience using the Microsoft suite of programmes including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- An understanding and knowledge of the challenges faced with Marae based and delivered programmes.

Your knowledge of tikanga and Te Reo Māori will assist you to be successful in this role.
