Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent Professor or Associate Professor in Health Psychology to join Te Kura Tātai Hauora - School of Health.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an energetic health psychology group with international research and teaching expertise within a world-leading university, and to:

- contribute to the School's research, ideally complementing existing research concentrations
- add to the School's existing strengths in teaching with a focus on health psychology
- work within a multidisciplinary School with a strong commitment to equity and diversity, and to bicultural practice in research and teaching consistent with the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi
- lead the development and delivery of Health Psychology undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
- contribute to the university's engagement with stakeholders, in respect of Health Psychology, especially with government agencies, non-governmental organisations and other partners relevant to our communities.

You will be a highly organised leader and relationship builder, who relishes working collaboratively in diverse high performing teams. You will be a supportive mentor who fosters an environment of collegiality and excellence in the health psychology team and beyond.
- A completed PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the seniority of the role
- Knowledge of how the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi can be effectively upheld in academic and health settings
- Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership and experience in teaching and research (e.g., mentoring of colleagues, leading research groups, developing and leading innovative initiatives that encourage or enhance student learning, etc)
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the diversity of the student population by the use of different approaches to teaching methods and practice
