Step into a transformative role as the Chief Clinical Advisor - Rural, where your expertise will shape the landscape of healthcare in New Zealand. As a seasoned clinician, you'll provide visionary input and strategic counsel, not only to the Ministry's priorities but also across the entire health sector.
Your leadership will shine as you offer senior clinical guidance to the Director and the entire Ministry, in alignment with the Chief Medical Officer, Director-General, and the Minister of Health. Your influence will extend to vital health service projects, where your hands-on involvement will drive their successful implementation.
Stay ahead of the curve by staying informed about local and global healthcare trends, forums, and innovations. Your visionary approach will pinpoint strategic opportunities for policy development and implementation, paving the way for advancements in the health and social sectors. You'll be at the forefront of crafting evidence-based, forward-thinking advice for policy and program development.
Collaborative by nature, you'll forge connections with stakeholders across the board, ensuring your impact resonates across the Directorate, Ministry, and government circles. Lead the charge in project planning, employing both strategic and tactical methods to achieve exceptional outcomes. Participate in cross-Ministry and sector initiatives, lending your clinical insight for holistic success. Elevate the Ministry's presence by representing us in crucial government meetings and forums.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Solid experience as a registered health professional with relevant clinical background and postgraduate qualifications
- Current New Zealand registration and Annual Practising Certificate
- Well established networks within rural health and rural communities
- Extensive experience in developing and maintaining effective professional relationships with a wide range of high-level stakeholders
- Knowledge of key issues impacting on the New Zealand health and disability sector including a clear understanding of the current and emerging issues and inequities
- An understanding of key elements related to legislation, regulation, education, professional development, health quality and safety and employment of doctors in New Zealand
