Data Scientist Lead

**This role**
You will be leading a team of incredibly ambitious and talented data scientists to tackle hard and exciting problems using cutting-edge research.
This is an opportunity to work in an extremely fast-paced environment and take on rewarding challenges and responsibilities. You will report to Tim Grunshaw (Director of Engineering).

**What will you do**
- **Lead the data science team** including coaching, project prioritization, and hiring.
- **Design, implement, and oversee** solutions for complex clustering, classification, and statistical modelling problems that include uncleaned & unstructured data.
- **Set a high bar for technical excellence** in the data science organization through ensuring sound data science methodology and scalability.
- **Help develop the roadmap for the data science** **team** by understanding short-term priorities and the long-term vision.

**Your skills**
- **You have experience leading a team or are in a senior role with aspirations to lead a team.** You focus on impact and drive excellence in your processes. You demonstrate exceptional coaching and mentoring ability.
- **You have deep data science experience.** You have used a range of techniques such as machine learning, statistical modelling, NLP, GNNs, and visualisation.
- **You have strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills**. You can quickly distil abstract problems into a concrete set of steps. You can understand the complexity and drive prioritization of these steps.
- **You have experience deploying, scaling, and maintaining ML solutions in production systems.**
- **_(Bonus)_** You are firmly grounded in software engineering fundamentals.* Including data structures, APIs, testing, and design patterns.
