The Ministry for Primary Industries' Procurement and Commercial Management team is a recognised leader within Government. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contract/Supplier Manager to join our team. You will help us ensure MPI has effective commercial management in place for a diverse range of ICT contracts/suppliers that are strategically important to the delivery of MPI's objectives. You'll be responsible for:
- Monitoring and managing a portfolio of contracts/suppliers to drive value for money for the commercial arrangements
- Acting as a trusted advisor providing expert commercial advice in relation to contract/supplier performance, risks and issues
- Developing and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Actively contributing to business improvements and innovations, streamlining business processes in relation to contracts, reducing costs and enabling efficiencies
- Leading and managing formal contract and supplier reviews
Mōu - About You
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Substantial experience managing complex commercial supplier relationships
- Demonstratable in-depth knowledge and experience in delivering commercial outcomes. In particular, experience in managing complex ICT contracts
- Proven ability to build successful and credible relationships with a range of business partners and stakeholders, and comfortable collaborating across all levels of the organisation
- Solid track record for uplifting organisational performance through enhanced commercial and financial management practices
- Advanced skills in commercial contract negotiation
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate technical information to diverse individuals and groups
