Team Leader Food Safety

Want to be involved in creating safe and healthy communities?

Within our Regulatory Compliance Unit we are looking for a Team Leader Food Safety and Environmental Health.

There are three main components to this key position:
**Leadership - **As a strong leader you will provide direction, empowerment and coaching to your team of technical experts who in turn provide advice relating to Food Safety and Environmental Health compliance. Ideally you'll come from a similar background so when providing support to the team you are drawing on your previous experience.

**Technical expertise** - being an industry expert, you will draw on your experience to ensure your team's advice promotes adherence to statutory requirements. Your experience/exposure to undertaking compliance action and developing national/regional standards to enable the Food Safety and Environmental Health team deliver services to a high standard while exceeding objectives.

**Relationships and big picture thinking** - as a natural collaborator, you will be the primary conduit of information sharing with the Ministry of Primary Industry and support officers administering legislative responsibilities when conducting compliance activities. You'll have a proven ability to develop & maintain stakeholder relationships and focus on acceptable outcomes.

**Additional information**:

- Hours of work_ - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street

Whilst staff working at the Christchurch City Council are not currently required to be vaccinated, applicants need to be aware that should the COVID-19 environment change, roles across the organisation will be assessed, and the requirement to be vaccinated may be reviewed.
